Christopher Allen Sumner

CLEARWATER - Christopher Allen Sumner, age 62, avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, true friend, and educator of the outdoors to all who knew him, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Visitation with family present from 9:30 - 11 AM with funeral service at 11 AM, Monday, August 18, 2025 at Webb Shinkle Mortuary, 200 S. Tracy, Clearwater, KS 67026. Graveside at 1:30 P.M. at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 24547 61st Rd., Arkansas City, KS 67005.

Chris was raised in Dexter, Kansas and became a Master Electrician after graduating high school.

Preceded in death by parents, Phillip and Janice (Muma) Sumner; brothers, Scott and Jeff Sumner; beloved dogs, Oscar, Sugar, and Dallas.

Survived by partner of 17 years, Jeri Tjaden; step-children, Jessie (Jacob) Strange and Brian Blake; grandchild, Archer Strange; best friend, Drew and Julie Steiben; dogs, Chisel and Willie.
