William E. Moore

William E. Moore, age 84, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Goddard, KS, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Visitation, 5-7pm, Thursday, April 5th. Services, 10am, Friday, April 6th, at Country Acres Baptist Church. William was born on Wednesday, March 14, 1934 in Emporia, Kansas. He was fourth of five children born to Oscar Orville Moore and Etherl B. (Burch) Moore. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Smith on October 30, 1955 in Dublin, NC. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2017. Preceded by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen (Smith) Moore; parents, Oscar and Ethel (Burch) Moore; brothers, Bob (Lynn), Harold (Dorothy), Leonard (Candy) Moore; sister, Ruth (Francis) Gillings. Survivors: children, Mark (Linda) Moore of Wichita, Dianna (Gregg) Girrens of Goddard, Michael (Stella) Moore of Wichita, Lee Ellen (Van) Elliott of Shawnee; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
