Roland Marten

Haysville - Roland L. Marten, age 72, ret. Vulcan welder/pipe-fitter, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Visitation, with family present, 5:30-7pm, Tuesday, November 7th. Memorial Services, 11am, Wednesday, November 8th, BOTH at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary Chapel, Clearwater. Roland was born on Monday, October 8, 1945 in El Dorado, Kansas, to his parents, Roland "Bill" Marten and Betty Jo (Monroe). He was united in marriage to Patricia Jean Greathouse on August 21, 1977 in Wichita, Kansas. He was a member of the 173rd Airborne Bgd COB 75 Rangers from 1965-1966 with the rank of LRRP. Preceded by father, Roland “Bill” Marten; brother, Rodney Marten. Survivors: wife, Patricia (Greathouse) Marten; sons, Jeff Martin, Eric and Chad Brehm, all of Wichita; mother, Betty Scarbrough of Wichita; brother, Terry (Cheryl) Marten of El Dorado, KS; sisters, Janice (Gary) Wilson of Wichita, Rowena Marten of Wichita; grandchildren, Katie and Sean Brehm; numerous nieces and nephews.
