In Loving Memory of Raymond Wright
July 14, 1934 – October 20, 2026
Visitation, Thursday, October 22, from 1-7pm, with family present from 5:30-7pm. Funeral Services, Friday, October 23, at 10am, BOTH at Webb Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater, KS.
Raymond Wright was a hardworking, stoic, and grounded man who lived his life with quiet strength and dedication. He was a man who showed his character through his actions, his commitment to his responsibilities, and the steady presence he provided to those around him.
Raymond attended Viola High School, graduating in 1952. In December 1956, he began his military service, which continued through December 1962. During his time serving in Germany, he earned a letter of good conduct for sharpshooting; all of this reflecting the discipline and dedication that would remain hallmarks of his life.
On December 20, 1964, Raymond married Sharon Loretta Cash, who preceded him in death. Together, they shared a chapter of life that remains part of his story and legacy.
Following his military service, Raymond continued to make a difference in his community. He was a passionate and dedicated janitor at the local high school, where his work extended far beyond maintaining the building. He cared about the students and took pride in supporting them, leaving his mark through the everyday ways he helped make their school a better place.
Raymond had a deep love for driving, cars, and airplanes. These interests brought him joy and were an important part of who he was. Whether behind the wheel or sharing his appreciation for the things he loved, he found happiness in the simple pleasures that made life meaningful.
Above all, Raymond leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory. He was a beloved dad, grandpa, and Gigi Papa, roles that became an important part of his legacy.
He is survived by his children:
Tammie Currie (Donald), Jackie Wentworth (Shayne), and Brendan Wright (Megan); 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Raymond’s life was a testament to hard work, perseverance, and quiet devotion. He may not have needed many words to make an impression, but the life he lived and the people he loved tell a story all their own.
As family and friends remember Raymond, may they celebrate a life well lived, the lessons he passed down, the memories he created, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will continue through the generations of family he leaves behind and the countless everyday moments in which he will be remembered with love.
