N.C. "Pete" Kester

N.C. “Pete” Kester passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025 at the age of 90.

Memorial services Monday April 14, 2025 at 6PM, Webb Shinkle Mortuary, 200 S Tracy, Clearwater, KS 67026.

Pete was born on January 20, 1935, in Oklahoma.  He moved to Kansas at a young age, and it was his home ever since, though he claimed to be am “Okie.”  After high school, Pete proudly served in the United States Army.  He drove a truck for a few years before he eventually landed at Cessna Aircraft and retired after 36 years.  Pete had many hobbies including fishing, boating, racing stock cars, motorcycles, baseball, music, art, poetry, woodworking and sewing.  He was a creative thinker with a quick wit and he told the best stories.  He will be deeply missed by many.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lucille Kester; his siblings, Ernestine Darbyshire, Carolyn Gile, George Kester, Terry Kester, and Laura Kester; granddaughter, Rebecca Kester.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Shelia; children, Lance (Cyndy) Kester, Scott Kester, Tammy (Eddie) Bryant, and Jerry (Jeannette) Kester; stepchildren Pat (Melissa) Kiefer, Karl (Myrna) Keifer; brother, Phillip (Mary Ann) Kester; lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
