Maxyne Y. (Johnson) Rome

Clearwater- Maxyne Y. (Johnson) Rome, age 83, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018. A Rosary will be Friday, December 28th, 2018 at 7 pm, with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on December 29th, 2018, at 10:30 am BOTH at St. Helen Catholic Church, 1011 S. Jefferson St, Hugoton, KS 67951.

Maxyne was born on Monday, October 28, 1935 in Genoa, Colorado, to Leo Evan Johnson and Neva Maxine Schultz Johnson. She was united in marriage to John C. Rome on April 18, 1955 in Garden City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2010.

Preceded in death by her parents Leo E. Johnson and Neva M. (Schultz) Burgett; husband, Johnof; brother, Mack Johnson; grandchild Taralyn Stearns.  She is survived by her daughters, Donna (John) Brower, Derby, KS, Linda (Lenn) Stearns, Clearwater, Lois Williams, Emporia, Laura (Geff) Luttrell, Ottawa; grandchildren Brian, Nick, and Dustin Williams, of Emporia, Mandi (Keith) Youngers, of Wichita, Kaitlin and Derek Stearns, of Clearwater, Carlee (Bailey) Grimes, Glendale, AZ; great-grandchildren, James and Loreali Roby-Williams, of Emporia, and Emma Youngers, of Wichita.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
