Mary B. Barker

Mary (Walsh) Barker, age 94, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Rosary, 7pm, Monday, April 13 and Funeral Mass, 10am, Tuesday, April 14, both at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Haysville.

Mary was born on Saturday, September 26, 1931, in Emmet, Kansas. She graduated from Pasao High School in Kansas City and lived briefly in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a girl- friend. On August 22, 1953, Mary Belle (Walsh) married Paul Barker in our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Wichita. In December of 1955 the couple moved to Haysville. She held various jobs as a bookkeeper, most notably Southwest Grease & Oil and Rine Drilling. Mary was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church, The Altar Society and various Bible Studies in her parish. She loved praying the rosary, making pies, gardening, visiting with friends, and reconciling her checkbook to the penny.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Barker; parents, Edward and Belle Walsh; siblings, Ina Sandefur, Katherine Orr, Ray Walsh, George Walsh, Francis Walsh, Lorraine Brady. She is survived by her children, David Barker of Haysville, Paula Barker of Wichita, Kevin (Kathy) Barker of Derby; granddaughter, Emily Barker.
