Lilia (Mondares) Foster

Lilia Padua Foster, 63, passed away on January 22, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City after an unexpected but tough battle with COVID-19.

Rosary, 10am and Funeral Mass, 10:30am, Saturday, January 29, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Wichita. Interment will follow at Porter Cemetery in Zyba, KS.

At 5pm, Saturday, January 29, there will be a Remembrance Dinner & Slideshow at the Omni Business Center – The Lounge, 111 S. Whittier St. (Rear Entrance), Wichita, Kansas 67207.

Lilia was born February 3, 1958 in Pangasinan, Philippines, the daughter of Marcelino and Leonora Mondares. She earned excellent marks throughout grade school and went on to be crowned queen of her barangay (government district).

After graduation, she moved to Hong Kong where she met and married SSgt Mark Foster Sr., her spouse of over 35 years. Together, they traveled around the globe but lived in Wichita, Kansas where she accomplished seven of her eight marathons. As a devout Catholic, she ushered regularly at both All Saints Catholic Church and the chapel at McConnell Air Force Base while also attending St. Paul University Parish near her home.

Lilia is preceded in death by her father Marcelino and survived by her mother Leonora, husband Mark, and two children, the youngest Mark Foster Jr. and his girlfriend Edith Herrera, and the oldest Major Kristine Corser and her husband Major Michael Corser. She has three beloved grandchildren: Damien, Isabella, and Adilyn Corser who called her their Nana. Additionally, she is survived by four siblings, her oldest brother Jaime Mondares and his wife Remedios, her older brother Virgilio Mondares and his wife Elisa, her younger brother Reynaldo Mondares and his wife Angelina, and her younger sister Perla and her husband retired SGT Roy Ekstein Jr.

She dedicated her entire life to her family and community both in the U.S. and overseas, and now rests with her eternal father in heaven watching over us.
