Kimberly Stitzer-Taylor Blasi

d. January 31, 2018

Kimberly Stitzer-Taylor Blasi died peacefully at age 49 after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends in Wichita, Kansas. How she lived is more important, than how Kim died. Kim, a believer in Christ Jesus, lived to serve the elderly, the disabled, the terminally ill and the discarded. She worked as a professional care-giver at Clearwater nursing home that primarily served the elderly, including Veterans. Her people-skills, professionalism and empathy for her clients left a legacy of grateful families too numerous to count. Kim earned the right to hear other people’s stories and she responded with wisdom and angelic empathy, even while she struggled to breathe. Her speciality was recognizing and honoring those who were often discarded by our society. Kim wore many hats with distinction - Christian, counselor, mother, professional care-giver, Community Pillar, citizen, sister and daughter. Even though she desperately fought to live, death for Kim was a release from pain and suffering. She relished in the sweet expectation of meeting our Lord - face to face. She said, “when I get over this, I’m never gonna lay down again.” Visitation, 9am-7pm, Wednesday, January 31st, with family present, 5:30-7pm, Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Services, 10am, Thursday, February 1st, Clearwater Church of Christ. She is survived by daughters, Megan and Molly Blasi of the home; parents, Jim and Esther Taylor of Elmer, MO; sisters, Sherry (Pat) Davidson, Patty (David) Blankenship, Robin Potts, Brandy (Keith) Smith, Bobbie Burnett; brother, COL. Richard (Chiara) Stitzer and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorials: Clearwater Church of Christ, 13900 Diagonal Rd, Clearwater, KS 67026 or Blasi Girls Scholarship Fund, c/o Emprise Bank, P.O. Box 128, Clearwater, KS 67026.
