Joyce C. (Winter) Neises, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Services will be held on Friday, August 21 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N Socora St, Wichita, KS. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m., and the funeral Mass will be at 10:30. Burial will be immediately after Mass, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11000 W Southwest Blvd. After the burial service, lunch will be provided at St. Francis.
Joyce attended Madonna High School and the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, and worked for many years in the Pediatrics Unit at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital.
She loved spending time gardening, reading, playing Scrabble, and crafting. She spent incalculable hours sewing and quilting, gifting quilts for many newborns and adults in the family. Visits with her grandchildren were full of cinnamon rolls, Legos, and trips to the zoo.
Preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Catherine (Becker) Winter; brother, Denis Winter.
Survived by her children, Christopher Neises of Bellevue, NE and Daniel (Kimberly) Neises of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren, Paul and Elizabeth Neises; siblings, James Winter of Wichita KS, Marilyn Knoblauch of Kingman KS, Wayne Winter, Kenneth (Mary) Winter, Shirley (Ted) Blick, Alan Winter, Barbara Albright, and Jeffery (Susan) Winter all of Wichita, KS.
