Jean Hanson, 81, of Wichita, died peacefully on November 21, 2023, in Wichita, KS. Jean was born March 13, 1942, in Wichita to Edna (Huffington) & Jerome Weber. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and soon began work for MMS News. Jean was a mother, house wife and in later years, worked and retired from All Saints Catholic Church Parish. She grew up helping on the family farm milking cows and helping with farm work. Most all of her life she dedicated her time as a parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and worked many hours raising money for parish projects, part of the Alter Society, The Lord’s Diner, and the St Vincent DePaul Society. She enjoyed watching her kids and grand children in all their activities and enjoyed going on cruises and trips with her sister and friends.
Jean is survived by her son, Greg (Merresa) Hanson of Newton; daughters, Karen (Kevin) Crabtree of Wichita, and Kristy (Mike) Sandbo of Wichita; grandchildren, Clinton Hanson, Kylee (Geoff) Weninger, Garrett Crabtree, Kailyn, Easton & Rilynn Sandbo, and great-granddaughter, Myla Weninger.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Jerome; brother and sister in law, Jerry & Gayle Weber; brother in law, Loyd Siegrist; and son, Randy Hanson.
The rosary service will be held Sun, Nov. 26 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass with Christian burial to follow will be Mon, Nov. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 11000 W Southwest Blvd, (Schulte) Wichita.
