Janet (Hein) Hay

Janet Marie Hay entered eternal life on November 29, 2022. She was surrounded by family and wrapped in their love.

Rosary, 7pm, Sunday, December 4 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Haysville. Funeral Mass, 10:30am, Monday, December 5 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Wichita.

Janet was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 15, 1944. She was trained as a nurse, a calling she discharged with skill and compassion. She married Kenneth Micheal Ray (Mike) on August 7, 1965. They were blessed with 2 children, Michelle Denise Roberts and Brian Charles Ray, prior to moving to Florida in 1967 where they added Mark Andrew Ray to the family in 1971. In 1975, the family moved briefly to Texas where Mike was lost in an accident. This loss took the family back to Kansas. Janet was fortunate to find a new life and love with Robert Dale Hay whom she married on July 27, 1979. Together they had a son, Father John Nicholas Hay. She took great joy in being a grandparent to Sidney Rhiannon Ray and Charles Michael Ray. Janet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and community member. Whoever she touched knew her deep faith, passion, charm, capacity to love and her rapier wit. She will be missed and remembered by the many that were lucky to have known her.

Preceded by first husband, Mike Ray; parents, Francis and Genevieve Hein; brothers, Ken and Jim Hein. Survivors: husband, Bob Hay; children, Michelle (Chuck) Roberts of Wichita Falls, TX, Brian (Amy) Ray of Racine, WI, Mark (Ayne) Ray of Austin, TX, Father John Hay of Wichita; siblings, Mary (Bob) Hetherington and Mike (Pam) Hein all of Wichita; grandchildren, Rhiannon and Charles Ray.
