James Frank Mcdowell

James (Jim) Frank McDowell, age 85, of Baxter Springs, KS, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Jim was a premier blacksmith welding service owner near Baxter Springs, KS from 1976 to August of 2000, supporting the farming and trucking industries.  He was a well known Banjo player throughout the 4 state area surrounding Baxter Springs.  Celebration of Life will be held March 14, 12pm, at the Baxter Springs Community Building followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, KS.

Preceded in death by wife, Helen (Trimble) McDowell; parents, Jack and Rosa McDowell; sisters, Sally Minor and Patricia Mosher.

Survivors: sons, James (Kelley) McDowell of Viola and Timothy McDowell of Baxter Springs; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
