Deborah "Deb" Mae (Watts) Girkin

Deborah Girkin passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Advena Care Home, after dealing with extensive health conditions. This was her home for 3 years and 2 months, after moving to Clearwater from her long-time home in Broken Arrow, OK. Deb was born February 6, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio to her parents, Danilda Julia and Bruce Ambrose Watts. As she was the youngest, three other siblings welcomed her into the family, Pamela Jane (Tillotson) Finn (deceased), James Bruce Watts (deceased), and Mary Ann Stafford of Clearwater and Texas. Deb attended Clearwater schools until she married young, and moved to Tulsa, OK. She was married to Ronald Charles Girkin on April 27, 1968, by his Quaker Minister/Grandfather. They began their married life in Tulsa, OK, later moving to Broken Arrow, OK, which became their permanent home. Ron now resides in Tulsa. Three beautiful sons were born of this union, Christopher Ronald Girkin (deceased), Joshua Russell Girkin of Lawrence, KS, and Zachary Tyler Girkin of Tulsa, OK; and special daughter, Heather Love Girkin (deceased). After her first son, Chris, was born, she was blessed to get to attend Tulsa Junior College (TJC). She graduated with a Registered Nursing degree. Deb worked at Hillcrest Medical Center, St. Francis Hospitals, and at TJC, as the college nurse, until a severe on the job back injury ended her nursing career, requiring three major surgeries. Deb’s daughters-in-law, Jaquetta (Chris), Kristina (Josh), and Ashley (Zach) gave her great joy, along with Kristina’s two precious children, Victoria and Sam. Deb’s Memorial Service will on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 2pm at Clearwater Church of Christ, 13900 Diagonal Rd, Clearwater, KS.
