Buddy A. Taylor passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Karen, by his side on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Cheney, Kansas.
He was born on Tuesday, September 29, 1936 to Marion and Ethel Taylor on a family farm west of Norwich, KS. He graduated from Norwich High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy and after serving almost 4 years, was honorably discharged. He married Karen Murry on December 16, 1961 in Clearwater, KS.
He worked at Messmer Elevator, Beechcraft, and Cargill.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Brian (fiancee’ Jennifer) Taylor; daughters, Kim (Greg) Hovey and Aimee (Greg) Whitley; grandchildren, Nic (Ashley) Hovey, Rachel Hovey, Brianna (fiancé Jack Norris) Hovey, Alissa Hovey, Christian (fiancee’ Maranda Wagner) Taylor, Kelsey Taylor, Luke Taylor, Jesse Whitley, Curtis Whitley, Braden Whitley, and Dexter Whitley; great-grandchildren, Aspen, Carsyn and Hunter Hovey. Preceded by his parents, Marion and Ethel (Chesterman) Taylor; brothers, Chester, Warren, and Joseph Jr; sisters, Francis Bowen, Margaret Ireland, Eula Baumgartner, Jo Gearheart, Martha Davidson, and an infant sister.
Visitation, 1-7pm, Fri, Dec 30, with family present, 5-7pm. Services, 2pm, Sat, Dec. 31, BOTH at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary Chapel, Clearwater. Interment following services will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Norwich, KS.
